'Yellowstone' Broadcast Marathon to Continue With Season 2 on CBS

The network will begin airing 'Yellowstone' Season 2 on Oct. 29.

There will be a whole lot more cowboyin' on the Eye Network this fall. Following stellar viewership numbers for Season 1, the Western drama's broadcast marathon will continue with "Yellowstone" Season 2 on CBS.

Season 2, Episode 1 debuts on the network on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 9 p.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. PT, with the rest of Season 2 dropping weekly thereafter.

Amidst the dual strikes this summer, Paramount's sister network CBS began re-airing "Yellowstone" Season 1 on Sept. 17. The premiere episode alone delivered a whopping 6.6 million viewers, per Variety. Since then, the marathon has drawn 21.6 million viewers to CBS.

According to the network, more than half of those viewers are new to the series, not having seen a single episode on linear or streaming in the past year. Currently, "Yellowstone" Seasons 1-5 are available to stream on Peacock, with Season 1 also on Paramount+.

"Yellowstone" aired its Season 5, Part 1 finale on Paramount Network in Jan. 2023. Season 5, Part 2 will mark the end of creator Taylor Sheridan's flagship show, it was announced in May 2023. News of the beloved drama's end came with confirmation that series star Kevin Costner would prematurely depart the show after Season 5.

The Season 1 finale, "The Unraveling: Pt 2," will air on CBS on Oct. 22. That episode sees John Dutton (Costner) move against Dan Jenkins and Thomas Rainwater in a big way. The following week, on Oct. 29, the "Yellowstone" Season 2 premiere, "A Thundering" will make its network TV debut with Kayce's (Luke Grimes) return to the Dutton family ranch and Jamie's (Wes Bentley) involvement in a damaging exposé about his father.

For "Yellowstone" fans new and old, Season 2 is an all-time great installment of the series that singlehandedly revitalized the Western genre. Much of the show's sophomore outing made our list of the most important moments in the series so far.

It was announced on Oct. 20 that the broadcast marathon would continue with "Yellowstone" Season 2 on CBS. It has not yet been revealed whether the network will re-air Seasons 3-5.
