Travis Kelce's got a favorite Taylor Swift Era of his own, and he's particularly fond of 1989 (Taylor's Version), a re-recording of Swift's 2014 album.
"'Blank Space' was one I wanted to hear live for sure. 'I could make a bad guy good for the weekend.' That's a helluva line," Kelce told WSJ Magazine for its December/January issue.
"I've never been a man of words. Being around her, seeing how smart Taylor is, has been f—-ing mind-blowing. I'm learning every day," he added.
Though he's a two-time Super Bowl winner and the brother of a People's Sexiest Man Alive contender, Kelce's getting a much difference glimpse at fame because of Swift.
"Obviously I've never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them .... I've never dealt with it," Kelce said. "But at the same time, I'm not running away from any of it... The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she's just living, enjoying life."
Kelce has dipped his toes into music recently alongside his brother, Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce. The brothers' duet "Fairytale of Philadelphia," a reworking of Irish punks The Pogues' "Fairytale of New York," debuted at No. 8 on the iTunes chart, positioned between two Jelly Roll songs.
"This is incredibly humbling, thank you to all for supporting!!," Jason tweeted on Wednesday (Nov. 15) along with a screenshot of the charts.
To give you an idea of its swift success (pun intended), the song was released the same day as Jason's post. It's from forthcoming album A Philly Special Christmas Special, which is by Jason and his fellow Eagles offensive linemen Connor Barwin, Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata. It's the second consecutive year with a Philly Specials holiday album. The group's name is a reference to the Philly Special, a trick play that helped the Eagles upset Tom Brady's New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII back in 2018.
