If we're lucky, country music superstar and reigning ACM co-Entertainer of the Year Thomas Rhett will always find time to collaborate with his father Rhett Akins, the singer-songwriter behind "That Ain't My Truck."
Examples of the father-son duo's creative paths crossing include a then 19-year-old Rhett singing "Kiss My Country Ass" with his dad at Nashville's Hard Rock Cafe and new song "Things Dads Do," a Father's Day gift from Rhett to Akins. The "Die a Happy Man" singer's also cut several of his dad's more recent compositions, including "Life Changes," "It Goes Like This," "Get Me Some of That" and "Star of the Show."
An even sweeter example of an Akins family collaboration came when Rhett wasn't much older than his and his wife Lauren Akins' three adorable daughters: Willa Gray, Ada James and Lennon Love. Vintage footage that's made the rounds on social media shows young Rhett dressed as a '90s country singer while helping his dad belt out Joe Diffie's "Third Rock From the Sun."

Sterling Whipple, Tony Martin and John Greenebaum co-wrote "Third Rock From the Sun," which became the title track for Diffie's 1994 studio album. Diffie's version reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, making it his first chart-topper since 1991's "If the Devil Danced (In Empty Pockets)."
Akins was a country star in his own right back then, with his 1996 single "Don't Get Me Started" reaching No. 1. Nowadays, he's part of the Peach Pickers, a songwriting team also featuring Dallas Davidson and Ben Hayslip. The trio's written songs recorded by Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton and other country artists. Other hit songs credited to Akins include Jason Aldean's "Tonight Looks Good on You" and Jon Pardi's "Dirt on My Boots."
