If you look back to the 2019 CMA Awards, it was a big night for Kacey Musgraves. She won Female Vocalist of the Year and Music Video of the Year for "Rainbow." She was in the midst of a slew of major awards after releasing her mega-hit country album Golden Hour and was on top of the world. So it's no wonder that she decided to hit the town and party after securing her two country music awards. But the night took an interesting turn for the country star, and she honestly barely remembers what happened. It does sound like she had one heck of a time with the legendary Willie Nelson though.
The following day, Musgraves tweeted, "can you die from a hangover? asking for a friend who is actually me."
On an episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden, the host decided to get to the bottom of her hilarious hangover tweet and figure out what really happened following the awards show. Musgraves' story was entertaining not only for Corden but for her fellow guest, actress Rebel Wilson. And of course, everyone watching the interview. It really is the wildest story.

"Well, directly after the show, I went to Willie Nelson's bus," she began. "I don't know...I brought him some pizza. He loved that. Yeah, we hung out for a second, and I don't really know what happened. The next thing I know...We leave, we hit some Nashville honky-tonks, it's really fun."
"The next thing I know, I'm in this barn, and Reese Witherspoon is playing bongos. Gigi Hadid is also playing bongos. I'm singing with Ronnie Dunn, it's like, this. Like, this—I don't know. And then, yeah, I woke up. And I was...I don't know!"
Obviously, we have a ton of questions. How did Reese Witherspoon join the group? Where was this barn? Was Kix Brooks there too? Gigi Hadid sounds like a random addition, but the supermodel was pictured with Musgraves on the CMA red carpet, so she must have tagged along for the ride following whatever happened in Willie Nelson's bus.
When asked about her go-to hangover cure, the country singer said, "Gatorade but also just not drinking. I mean, just don't poison yourself...just don't...drink, like, loads...just buckets of tequila. Just don't do that."
You can't argue with that! Meanwhile, Rebel Wilson doesn't need any hangover remedies because she's never actually been drunk. That's one way to permanently avoid the Sunday scaries!
