This Is How You Make A F**king Biscuit, According to Chef Gator of 'Yellowstone'

Chef Gabriel "Gator" Guilbeau gives us a sneak peek at his forthcoming 'Yellowstone'-inspired cookbook.

Chef Gabriel "Gator" Guilbeau, the real-life chef who plays Chef Gator on the hit neo-Western drama Yellowstone,  has authored a forthcoming cookbook that features over 55 recipes inspired by the show. And we've got our hands on the most coveted of Gator's recipes: the biscuit.

Yellowstone: The Official Dutton Ranch Family Cookbook will be released on September 12 and is currently available for pre-order. Between the delectable country-style cooking recipes, Guilbeau writes anecdotes about his life, culinary inspirations, and the making of Yellowstone, which will end after the second half of season 5.

Guilbeau began his Yellowstone tenure working in craft services behind the scenes, where series co-creator Taylor Sheridan offered him a role in front of the camera. Guilbeau delivered some fan-favorite moments on the show, including the one-liner, "That's how you make a f**king biscuit."

The line left viewers everywhere wondering the same thing: how do you make a f**king biscuit like Chef Gator? Well, wonder no more, because Guilbeau has given us a sneak peek at the Yellowstone cookbook, including his "This is how you Make a F**king Biscuit" recipe.

Ingredients

2 cups (250 g) all-purpose four, plus flour for dusting

2 tablespoons baking powder

¼ teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon kosher salt

½ cup (115 g) very cold unsalted butter, diced, plus tablespoon, melted

1 cup (240 ml) buttermilk

MAKES ABOUT 8 BISCUITS

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).

Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into the bowl of a food processor.

Add ½ cup (115 g) of the cold diced butter and pulse just until the butter is the size of peas. Pour in the buttermilk and pulse just until the dough starts to come together.

Dust a work surface with flour and turn the dough onto it. Press the dough together, pat it out into a disk about ½ inch (12 mm) thick, and then give it about 5 folds. Press it out again into a ½2-inch- (12-mm-) thick disk. Using a 3-inch (7.5-cm) round biscuit cutter or an empty tin can cut out as many biscuits as you can. Press the scraps together gently and cut out as many more biscuits as you can. Arrange the biscuits on a baking sheet, spaced slightly apart.

Bake until golden brown, 10-13 minutes; do not overbake. Brush the biscuits with the melted butter and enjoy!
