Tim McGraw to Release 'Songs of America,' a Book About the Music That Shaped the Nation

Tim McGraw is teaming up with presidential historian Jon Meacham to release Songs of America: Patriotism, Protest and the Music That Made a Nation, a book about the songs that shaped the United States. The book will be released on June 11.

Rolling Stone reports that the book will examine classic American songs, from "The Star-Spangled Banner" to Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the U.S.A," and how they influenced the culture in the era they were released. McGraw will write about the songs from his perspective as an artist. Meacham, a political science professor at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, will examine the songs through the lens of the cultural revolution.

The book is available for pre-order on Amazon.
