'The Voice': Team Reba Knockout Features Standout Maren Morris Cover, Friction Between Reba and Gwen

This one was intense.

Monday night's (Nov. 6) episode of The Voice featured the premiere of this season's Knockout round, in which three artists from the same team compete, but only one can win. The coaches do have steals and saves this round, which makes for plenty of competition between each coach.

The first team to compete in the three-way knockouts was Team Reba. From high-flying vocals, to an almost-spat between Coach Reba and Coach Gwen, the segment was explosive in more ways than one. However, it all started in the rehearsal room with McEntire and this season's Mega Mentor, Wynonna Judd.

This round allows the singers to choose their own song, and the first Knockout saw Jacquie Roar singing Maren Morris' "Girl," Alison Albrecht with Carole King's "It's Too Late," and Tom Nitti with the Temptations' "(I Know) I'm Losing You." McEntire and Judd gave solid tips to each singer. Judd specifically told Albrecht to pretend she's not on The Voice.

"You're singing it for me and we're hanging out in the car," she said.

Judd strongly enjoyed Roar's performance of "Girl," saying the world needs more "strong country singers." She advised Roar to bring the song down a half step to truly let the high notes shine. Nitti provided a soulful rehearsal performance, and McEntire advised him to raise his hat so the audience can see his face.

Each singer gave strong performances on the night of the competition, but Roar stood out among the rest with her crystal-clear tone, impressive power and complex runs. McEntire named her as the winner of the knockout, but another singer was in for a surprise.

Before Nitti could say his goodbyes, McEntire hit her button to save him and keep him on her team. If that wasn't exciting enough, Stefani then hit her button in an attempt to steal Nitti from McEntire. The country legend was shocked by the move and began approaching Stefani in an intimidating manner.

"There must be a malfunction here, right Gwen?" she asked pointedly.

Stefani used the moment as an opportunity to tell Nitti how much of a fan she is. McEntire then gave her best pitch to keep the soulful country singer on his team. Nitti stayed loyal to Team Reba in the end.
