‘The Voice’: Reba McEntire Recruits Fellow Redhead Country Singer to Her Team

There's a new redhead in town and she's Team Reba.

The Voice coach Reba McEntire is undoubtedly the most famous redhead in country music, but there's a new one in town as of this week. 27-year-old Caitlin Quisenberry took to The Voice stage on Tuesday night's (10/10) episode, offering a heartfelt rendition of Kacey Musgraves' "Rainbow." The lawyer turned indie country singer said in a pre-audition interview that music has always been a dream of hers.

When Quisenberry first began singing, and as coaches later pointed out, she was slightly behind the timing of the song. As she continued, however, she showcased her unique country voice, including the higher parts of her register. Any country singer would surely love to be a member of Team Reba, and after deliberating for a few moments, McEntire turned her chair for her. Gwen Stefani also threw her hat in the ring.

Niall Horan was the first coach to speak to Quisenberry, and although he expressed regret for not turning his chair, he admitted she's in "great hands" with either McEntire or Stefani. John Legend then shared that the "shaky" beginning of the performance is the reason he didn't turn his chair.

When McEntire got her chance to speak, she said Quisenberry has the kind of voice she enjoys listening to. The country legend also offered her years of experience and lessons to Quisenberry, but there was another selling point for joining her team that McEntire just couldn't ignore.

"We're both redheads, so that's a plus," McEntire said, as Quisenberry agreed.

McEntire's pitch brought about a challenge for Stefani, but she touted her strengths — and hair color — as she urged Quisenberry to join her team.

"You need a coach that can help you and cheerlead for you and bounce off of you with ideas," Stefani said. "...You're going to go with a blonde or a redhead, I don't know."

In the end, Quisenberry chose redheaded country legend, Reba. Watch below, and catch The Voice on Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC.
