Dolly Parton was the talk of social media on Thanksgiving (Nov. 23) after her halftime performance at the Dallas Cowboys' annual holiday game. Although many swooned online over Parton's shimmering homage to the iconic Cowboys cheerleader uniform, others criticized the 77-year-old pop culture legend's revealing outfit.
Parton's had some high-profile defenders since, with Whoopi Goldberg clapping back at the haters on "The View." While Goldberg told Parton's critics to "bite me," Parton's sister Stella got way more vicious in a tweet posted on Sunday (Nov. 26).
"I personally thought my big sister Dolly was cute as hell in her Dallas Cowboys cheerleading costume at the half time show on Thanksgiving," Stella wrote. "To those of you being so critical of a 77 year old kicking up her heels, I say f—k yourself. Shame on you not her."

Stella is no stranger to the country music scene. With her own 40-plus years of experience, she has created her own path as a country singer and had some successful singles in the '70s. Most notably, 1975's "I Want to Hold You in My Dreams Tonight" was a Top 10 hit.
An experienced author and actor as well, Stella told People in 2022 that she always has "two or three projects on the cooker, in the slow-cooker." At the time of the interview, Stella was promoting a film she stars in, "Nothing is Impossible."
Though she's a free spirit, Stella often aides her siblings' careers.
"Everybody knows that I'm independent. I'm a loner in my family," Stella told People. "But if they need me, if they call me out to help with something, producing, consulting or whatever, I'm always there."
Stella is three years younger than Dolly. They're among the 12 children of Avie Lee and Robert Lee Parton.
