Reba McEntire Shares the Three Things Everyone Needs + They're Words to Live By

Wise words from Queen Reba.

Reba McEntire has offered plenty of wisdom and personality through her music throughout the years, and she will share more of her life in her upcoming book, Not That Fancy: Simple Lessons on Living, Loving, Eating, and Dusting Off Your Boots. Fans will have to wait until the book's October 10 release to glean all the wisdom within it, but she shared one special quote prior to its release. In an interview on Today from April which she recently posted to social media, McEntire shared the three "bones" one needs in life to help them along the right path.

"Wishbone, funny bone and a backbone," she tells Today host Carson Daly. "Gotta have all three of those."

"If you've got those three things, you've got the determination, the drive and the humor when things don't go right," she says. "You can kind of dust it off and keep going."

McEntire say the book will be "fun," as opposed to a serious autobiography or memoir. It will feature plenty of photos, as McEntire covers personal stories about her family, faith and friends. The singer will also share recipes, including some from her Oklahoma restaurant, Reba's Place. Garth Brooks contributed the foreword to the book, in which he speaks about McEntire's work ethic.

The singer will also release an accompanying album, also titled Not That Fancy, which will feature remastered versions of her biggest hits. The album will come out on October 6.

In addition to readying the release of her new book, McEntire is likely in prep mode for her upcoming stint as a coach on season 24 of The Voice. McEntire will replace the exiting Blake Shelton. She will be joined by Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan and Gwen Stefani on the coaching panel.
