Miranda Lambert's long-awaited single "It All Comes Out in the Wash" arrived today, previewing the fall release of her still-unnamed seventh studio album. In the spirit of her digital A-side's washer-dryer combo theme, Lambert also bundled in a surprise studio version of her self-described "country punk rock" stomper "Locomotive."
Lambert wrote "It All Comes Out in the Wash" with the Love Junkies: Lori McKenna, Hillary Lindsey and Liz Rose. The calamities listed off by Lambert should remind listeners of parental wisdom about stained clothes ("don't sweat it, a Tide stick will get it!") and Sunday School teachings about why blemishes of another sort mean less in the grand scheme of things than gossipers insist.
"When we were little, our moms would say 'let's not worry about a stain.' Everyone goes through times in life that are difficult and has moments that they wish would pass," Lambert said in a press release "This song is a mix of scenarios that we have all either been a part of or have seen, and is a fun reminder that hard times do eventually pass."

Its rocking country vibe and redemptive theme tease a new album, produced by Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Ashley McBryde) and reflective of Lambert's hunger to share new tunes with one of country music's most loyal fan bases.
Its flip side's studio recording captures all the riff-driven rage and energy from its CMA Fest debut. Lambert never sounded more like a rock star, but she's hardly raging against the machine. Instead, she's enjoying the type of warm summer afternoon at the heart of many modern country songs while itching to taste what husband Brendan McLoughlin's got cooking on the grill. Lambert co-wrote "Locomotive" with K.S. Rhodes and Pistol Annies bandmate Ashley Monroe.
"It All Comes Out In the Wash" Lyrics:
If you wear a white shirt to a crawfish boil
Stonewashed jeans while you're changing the oil
When you find yourself dating the bridesmaid's ex
You accidentally bring him to the wedding, whoops
If you pour yourself a Merlot to go
You dip your fries in your ketchup on a bumpy road
You spill the beans to your mama, sister got knocked up
In a truck at the 7-Eleven, don't sweat it
'Cause it'll all come out, all come out in the wash
It'll all come out, all come out in the wash
Every little stain, every little heartbreak, no matter how messy it got
You take the sin, and the men, and you throw 'em all in
And you put that sucker on spin.
You got frisky with your boss at the copy machine
You drunk dialed your ex-husband, don't remember a thing
Had a fancy dinner at your mother-in-law's
Spilled A1 sauce on her table cloth, don't sweat it
A Tide stick will get it.
And the laundry list goes like this
Every teardrop, every white lie
Every dirty cotton sheet, let it line dry
All the mistakes, all the wild streaks
That's why the good Lord made bleach Oh, oh.
Yeah, you put that sucker on spin
And around and around and around and around we go
'Round and around and around and around we go
