Ashley McBryde and Dillon Carmichael are two of the most talented new traditional voices in country music and the two powerhouses recently joined forces in San Jose, Calif. for a rapturous "Tennessee Whiskey" duet.
Kentucky-native Carmichael kicked off the song to cheers from the crowd. McBryde, who recently won New Female Vocalist at the 2019 Academy of Country Music Awards, takes the second verse before leading the crowd in a singalong.
"Tennessee Whiskey, "written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove, was recorded by David Allan Coe in 1981 and George Jones in 1983. Chris Stapleton reignited public interest in the song with his rendition of the song on his 2015 album Traveller.
McBryde will hit the road with Miranda Lambert on the Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour, which kicks off on Sept. 13 in Uncasville, Conn. Maren Morris, Elle King, Pistol Annies, Tenille Townes and Caylee Hammack will also join the tour.
Carmichael released his album Hell on an Angel last year.
