Dierks Bentley and His 12-Year-Old Daughter Sing "Different For Girls"

When country singer Dierks Bentley performed at Chicago's Windy City Smokeout last weekend, he brought along a special guest: his 12-year-old daughter Evie. Together, the father-daughter duo performed "Different For Girls": Bentley's popular duet with the Elle King. And man, does little Evie got pipes! It sounds Bentley's kid has the chops to be a real country star. Just like her daddy.

"Different For Girls" is a blunt song about how women experience heartbreak. With lines like "She don't text her friends and say, I gotta get laid tonight," you might think that's an awkward song to sing with your dad — on stage at the Windy City Smokeout in Chicago, Dierks Bentley joked that Evie should cover her ears at certain points in the lyrics — but it quickly became clear little Evie is comfortable with her dad's material. Not only that, but she can rock the hell out of it! Evie was a natural in front of the audience, even when performing a verse solo.

Some Bentley fans may remember that this was not Evie's country music debut. In 2018, she joined her father at an Oklahoma concert to sing "My Religion." Watch that adorable footage here. She also featured on her father's final track off Home, "Thinking of You," when she was just three years old!

Dierks and Evie Bentley

As footage of the Bentleys' duet circulates online, this sweet pic of the moment offers a bit of context. As a caption, Bentley wrote: Hard to put into words how much we've missed this as a band and crew... thanks for coming out Chicago. You were legendary. Just a few more weeks until the #BeersOnMe tour kicks off." That tour is set to begin in mid-August and will feature Riley Green and Parker McCollum as opening acts.

Recently, Bentley's new single "Gone" became the singer's 20th No. 1 hit. And now, perhaps his father-daughter duet will also make it onto some country song playlists. It's a spot of happy news for the artist, who just this week had to cancel his highly anticipated Seven Peaks Music Festival in Buena Vista, Colorado due to COVID-19 capacity restrictions. Dierks and Evie also performed together at the 2019 Seven Peaks Music Festival; see below.

"Different For Girls"

Since getting posted by fellow singer-songwriter Thomas Rhett, Dierks and Evie Bentley's has been currently trending on social media. But "Different For Girls" is not a new song. Check out the original music video above. In 2016, this Elle King-Dierks Bentley duet won "Vocal Event of the Year" at the CMA Awards and was also nominated for a Grammy.
