Sixty-five years ago, a 13-year-old singer by the name of Brenda Lee released a holiday tune that is still a classic to this day. That song is "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," and Lee is celebrating the 65th anniversary of the song in a fun way this holiday season.
Lee starred in a brand new music video — the first music video for the song — in order to celebrate the milestone. The video finds Lee quite literally rocking around the Christmas tree while the song with her original vocals plays. It also encapsulates all the warm feelings of Christmas as it shows scenes of a family enjoying a warm Christmas meal and Lee spending the holiday with good friends Trisha Yearwood and Tanya Tucker.
Halfway through the video, an all-out dance party breaks out, and all the family members — even Santa — get in on the action. Of course, it wouldn't be Christmas without Santa putting presents under the tree, and he does just that in the video.
"For those out there who know me and have supported me and my music through the years, I've very proud to be putting out the first ever music video for 'Rockin'," Lee says. "This song has been so special to me - I never thought it would be my signature song, but I love that it is because it brings so much joy."

In addition to the new music video, Lee is celebrating the special anniversary with a new EP, A Rockin' Christmas with Brenda Lee. The project features the original version of the 5x Platinum holiday tune as well as a reimagined version by music producer and DJ, Filous. Other holiday classics also appear on the EP, like "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town," "Jingle Bell Rock" "A Marshmallow World."
"I remember the day I recorded this wonderful Johnny Marks song, and here we are 65 years later and I'm only here because of you," Lee added of the song. "I won't ever meet all of you, but I know you are there and have been since I was a little girl - so Thank You and I wish everyone a Merry Christmas!"
Lee is set to perform "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" on Christmas at the Opry, airing Dec. at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
