Chip and Joanna Gaines are Ending 'Fixer Upper'

It's official, folks. Chip and Joanna Gaines have just announced that they are ending their spectacularly successful show Fixer Upper after the upcoming 5th season.

"It is with both sadness and expectation that we share the news that season 5 of Fixer Upper will be our last," the couple stated in a landmark post to their blog this morning.

"This has nothing to do with a fraudulent skincare line or anything else you'll inevitably read," they explained, referencing a scam that had circulated on the internet last year. "This is just us recognizing that we need to catch our breath for a moment."

The couple expressed gratitude for all the support they've received over the years from fans of the show as well as their hometown of Waco. They also stated that they want to take time to focus more on their other business ventures, while maintaining time for family. The couple has four children, Drake, Ella, Duke and Emmie Kay, between the ages of 12 and 7.

"They're so young, and we want to give them the chance to have a normal childhood," Joanna told People Magazine of her kids. "Family is the most important thing in the world."

The show has been ongoing since 2013, and it has been extremely rewarding for the couple. Fixer Upper launched the Gaines' Magnolia Market into international fame, and the couple have since expanded their empire to include a vacation rental property, as well as a real estate business, and even an upcoming restaurant.

"You know, I think this is one of those, it's such a bittersweet time for us because for the last five years this has been our life. The show, the crew here, have become like family," Joanna and Chip stated in the video.

"We're not going anywhere, at the end of the day you can always find us here in Waco, Texas," Chip continued. "[Of] course, you can always come visit us at the silos."

Although the decision may sadden dedicated Fixer Upper fans, Chip and Joanna say they are grateful for the journey.

"We want to take this time to really say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for letting our family become a part of your family," they say.  "The experience has been like nothing we could have ever predicted."
