Scotcharoos

Scotcharoos are Rice Krispies Treats taken to a new level, with copious amounts of chocolate, peanut butter and butterscotch!

Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups butterscotch chips

Instructions
 

  • Prepare a 9x13 baking pan by greasing it, then set aside.
  • Pour Rice Krispies or other rice cereal into a large bowl, then set aside.
  • Using a medium pot, bring peanut butter, sugar and corn syrup to a boil, stirring continuously. Take off heat and pour peanut butter mixture over Rice Krispies, mixing until fully combined.
  • Pour mixture into prepared pan and press down evenly with a spatula.
  • Melt chocolate chips and butterscotch chips together in a small pot on medium-low heat, stirring continuously to avoid burning. Alternatively, you can melt them in the microwave using a microwave-safe bowl and heating in 30-second intervals.
  • Pour over Rice Krispies and allow them to set in the baking dish before cutting and serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
