Why Megan Moroney Sent Kenny Chesney A Picture of Her Bawling Her Eyes Out

Megan Moroney revealed the reason why she was bawling her eyes out to her mentor Kenny Chesney last Friday.

It's no secret that Megan Moroney's songs have a lot to do with love and heartbreak. But, she got real this time.

She revealed details behind her rawest song on her Cloud 9 album last Friday, per Whiskey Riff.

The writing of "Who Hurt You?" was a cathartic exercise for Moroney, with her honesty shining through with her blunt lyrics. She explained, "I remember coming up with that song and trying to include every possible detail that rhymes,"

Her intention was to "put it out into the world and never have to talk about that situation again", continuing, "with 'Who Hurt You?' in particular I released so many emotions... it feels really great not to have all that pent-up inside me anymore."

She revealed that before she wrote the song, she was an emotional wreck. Megan Moroney revealed that she sent a photo of her crying to her mentor Kenny Chesney. She described it, "Oh, of me crying. My face, my eyes. My eyes were swollen shut." Kenny joked that the picture was so revealing that it would be "their picture of the day".

"Who Hurt You?" is definitely a song full of pain. She went all-in on her mystery man that caused her all this pain. The stand-out line to me is "You'd cosplay someone with feelings." Harsh!

Although Megan Moroney never admitted who he is, fans have certainly speculated. Who could he be?

Did Megan Moroney write "Who Hurt You?" about Riley Green?

Fans of Megan Moroney and Riley Green alike have speculated their relationship, but neither side has officially confirmed their alleged relationship.

However, there has been rumours that they dated. Lyrics in "Who Hurt You?" point to Green being that mystery man. "The devil went down to Georgia / Then he crossed the 'Bama line" could point to Green, as he was born in Jacksonville, Alabama.

Green also returned fire at Moroney when he released a song called "POS Like Me", just a day after Cloud 9 came out. Fans speculated it was a response to "Who Hurt You?", with sarcastic lyrics like "You hated my dogs / You hated my songs / Yeah, you hated it way out here" maybe shedding light on his perspective.

Although nothing is confirmed, we hope that they are both doing well, whether they dated or not. And, that Megan Moroney doesn't have any reason to cry like that in the future!
