Tim McGraw unearthed quite the historic country music artifact on Friday (Oct. 6), which was his 27th wedding anniversary with fellow Nashville icon Faith Hill. A image he posted on Instagram for the special day shows a young, curly-haired Hill with a mustachioed, hat act-era McGraw.
"This is the very first picture ever taken of us, the very first time we ever met back in spring of 1994," McGraw wrote in the caption. "This was backstage of the 'New Faces' show at the Country Radio Seminar... I fell for you in an instant!
"Today is our 27th wedding anniversary and I fall for you every day, every time you walk into the room, every time I see you in our 3 beautiful daughters' smiles," he continued. "I just keep falling and always will. Happy anniversary my love!"
Daughter Maggie commented that the image is "iconic," with her younger sister Audrey adding "Awwwww love y'all so much."
McGraw wed fellow country star Hill on Oct. 6, 1996. He's been open about how Hill changed his life.
"I guarantee you, had I not gotten married to Faith at 29 years old— A, I probably would've ran my career into the ground, and B, I would've died already with my career into the ground, one or the other, and it wouldn't have ever been where it's at now," McGraw told Apple Music 1's Zane Lowe.
A selection from the album Standing Room Only, recent McGraw song "Her" was inspired by the couple's relationship.
"She loved it so much. She goes, 'This is about me right?' I go, 'Yeah, of course! Of course! You're the her," McGraw told Entertainment Tonight.
After all, Hill gave the album her stamp of approval through her usual quality control inspection.
"I'm always playing her the songs that I want to record and playing the mixes as I'll go along, and there's times we don't agree," McGraw told Apple Music 1's Zane Lowe. "There's times where she goes, 'I don't like the way that sounds.' 'Well, I do, and that's way it's going to stay.' And the same thing when she's making a record. It's like, 'I think this should be your single.' She goes, 'No, I don't like that song. This is going to be the single.' I go, 'All right.' She's right about her stuff and I'm usually right about my stuff, but most of the time we agree."
