This Tennessee Resort Keeps Christmas Alive All Year Long

There's a very special place in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee that celebrates the Christmas spirit all year long. The Inn at Christmas Place has been bringing Christmas magic to visitors of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee since 2007. The 145 guest room resort keeps guests coming back with festive events and charming Christmas decor 365 days a year. It's also less than an hour outside of Knoxville and would make a perfect weekend getaway.

Christmastime welcomes guests even before entering into the lobby to check-in at the front desk, with rotating themes at the entrance throughout the year, such as Christmas carolers and toy soldiers.

Inside the bavarian style Inn is bursting with Christmas embellishments as well as a beautifully decorated tree that all give you an old world feel. The lobby also boasts a two-story Glockenspiel clock that plays Christmas carols every hour on the hour. Of course there's also free wifi and indoor and outdoor pools.

Only those staying at The Inn at Christmas Place are lucky enough to catch a visit from the "Singing Santa." Multiple nights a week Santa Clause stops by the lobby and plays guitar and sings Christmas carols for guests.

Regular and mini suites on the property come specially decorated with your own Christmas tree. One of the most unique is known as Santa's Suite.

Through the large wooden door you'll find an exceptional living area. A fully decorated mantle sits atop the sitting room fireplace. The suit also includes a full size kitchen, dining bar, private balcony with a courtyard view and two flat screen TVs.

The bedroom carries on the Christmas tradition with green and red decorations including stockings, wreaths and a Christmas tree. Guests can also make use of the two person whirlpool tub.

Throughout the year, The Inn at Christmas Places hosts many holiday events including their Christmas in July celebration. From lat4 June through early August, guests can partake in the making of gingerbread houses, bow-tying classes, family bingo, Christmas fun at the pool and more.

When the holidays approach, the Inn goes all out with their Christmas theme. Almost half a million lights shine throughout the grounds during the holiday. It's so festive even Santa Claus would be jealous. Lots of live entertainment happens all December long including reenactments of the Dickens' classic, A Christmas Carol.

Stays at the resort come with a complimentary hot breakfast and cookies and milk deliveries at bedtime. A seasonal outdoor pool with a 95-ft water slide is a hit for families. Other amenities include a heated indoor pool, family-sized hot tub, a fitness center and more. Also? A breakfast buffet is included for a daily free breakfast (yes there's a waffle maker) but there's also a coffee maker in the rooms if you prefer.
