There's no need to change out of your comfy clothes. Going to the store to pick up a case of beer is slowing going to be something of the past, thanks to the Beer To Go Bill which Governor Greg Abbott signed on Monday, June 3, 2019. He advised fellow Texans to "enjoy responsibility" as they enjoy the Texas beer delivery service in a video on social media.

In the video Governor Greg Abbott starts off by asking, "Have you ever ordered food or groceries from a retailer to be delivered to your home, and also wished that you could order beer or wine to be delivered to your home?" Smiling he adds, "Well, I'm about to sign a law that allows you to do just that."
Texas Beer Delivery
Starting on September 1st, retailers who hold certain alcohol permits will be allowed to deliver alcohol to customers. This means businesses like H-E-B and restaurants with beer and wine permits will be able to bring your chardonnay or Bud Light with your food order. The bill, which was backed by the Texas Restaurant Association, stipulates that all deliveries must also include food. So make sure to add an order of fries to your craft beer order.
Many people have taken to social media to voice their praises of the new bill. Some say it might help stop people from drinking and driving.
Mixed drink lovers, just wait. If the Governor decides to sign bill No. 1450, restaurants with mixed beverage permits will be allowed to deliver as well. In this case, they would only be allowed to serve prepackaged mixed drinks like canned vodka tonic.
While some alcohol delivery companies like Favor, Amazon Prime, and Drizly already deliver all your favorites to big cities like Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin, this new bill will allow beer delivery straight from the restaurant. And to that, we raise a glass.
