Taylor Swift Sends Kelly Clarkson Flowers After Every Re-Recorded Album Release

In 2019, Kelly Clarkson suggested a way for Taylor Swift to work around not owning her masters.

Taylor Swift's generosity is no secret to her fans or numerous charitable organizations. Kelly Clarkson knows it well, too, because the pop star and talk show host receives a special delivery every time Swift releases one of her re-recorded albums.

"You know what's so funny? She just sent me flowers," Clarkson told E! News. "She's so nice. She did. She was like, 'Every time I release something'—'cause she just did 1989. I got that really cute cardigan, too."

Back in 2019, Clarkson tweeted that Swift should re-record her catalog to work around Scooter Braun owning the masters to the original albums. Clarkson doesn't want credit, though, because she's sure that Swift would've come up with the savvy plan regardless.

"I love how kind she is though," Clarkson added. "She's a very smart businesswoman. So, she would have thought of that. But it just sucks when you see artists that you admire and you respect really wanting something and it's special to them. You know if they're going to find a loophole, you find a loophole. And she did it and literally is, like, the best-selling artist I feel like of all-time now."

Clarkson then put over the Swifties as a major reason why Swift deserves to own the rights to her work.

"It's so cool to see a fanbase really get behind her in that too because it's important," she said. "She's known for being such an incredible songwriter and the soundtrack to a lot of people's lives and that's her life. So, you should have the option of owning that."

During a June interview with Andy Cohen, Clarkson revealed that Braun was well aware of the tweet.

"I think Scooter took offense to it, because we ran into each other, and I think he reached out at the time to my manager. I was like, 'It wasn't anything against him,'" she explained. "When [Swift] came out and said that and I heard about it, I was like, 'Whatever. Re-record them. Your fans will support you.' Uh, they did. She has like every top record right now in the charts."
