The controversy swirling around the Super Bowl LX halftime show featuring the Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny has almost eclipsed the game itself. Some approved the choice of the outspoken Grammy winner. Others deplored it. In response, Turning Point USA, the organization launched by the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, is planning an alternative halftime show. It will star Kid Rock, Lee Brice, Brantley Gilbert, and Gabby Barrett.

Trump's Opinion About Bad Bunny
Not surprisingly, President Donald Trump will reportedly not be tuned in to the official Super Bowl halftime musical bonanza with Bad Bunny. Per Fox News, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, "I think the president would much prefer a Kid Rock performance over Bad Bunny. I must say that." Leavitt made that statement at a press briefing on Thursday, February 5.
According to Newsmax last October, President Trump reportedly said this of Bad Bunny being the halftime headliner. "I've never heard of him. I don't know who he is. I don't know why they're doing it. It's crazy. I think it's absolutely ridiculous."
NFL Commissioner Stands by Choice of Halftime Entertainer
Bad Bunny (his name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio) has not been shy about making his political views known. Still, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell stands solidly by the choice. The 31-year-old rap star will helm one of the most high-profile gigs in the whole global entertainment world.
Some may be concerned that Bad Bunny might use the show as a political soapbox. Goodell seemingly sought to allay those worries.
Per the outlet, Goodell said during a media opportunity on Monday, "Listen, Bad Bunny is, and I think that was demonstrated last night [at the Grammys], one of the great artists in the world, and that's one of the reasons we chose him."
He added, "But the other reason is he understood the platform he was on, and this platform is used to unite people and to be able to bring people together with their creativity, with their talents and to be able to use this moment to do that. And I think artists in the past have done that. I think Bad Bunny understands that, and I think he'll have a great performance."
