James Farthing has been arrested four times since winning Kentucky's biggest jackpot ever in April. This time, the 51-year-old lottery winner was arrested for allegedly strangling a woman after a boating trip.
Farthing is facing charges of first-degree strangulation, domestic violence-related, and fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, causing minor injury.
He is currently being held in Scott County Jail, according to jail records viewed by PEOPLE.
Powerball Winner Arrested For Fourth Time This Year
The alleged victim claimed that she and Farthing got into a verbal altercation after the boating trip. Farthing is accused of "put[ing] both his hands on her neck, which restricted her breathing." The incident occurred in Georgetown, a small town in Kentucky.
Farthing pleaded not guilty Tuesday to strangulation and assault charges. According to TMZ, his bond was set to $15,000 and he was ordered to stay away from the woman and wear a monitoring device.
His domestic-violence-related arrest comes months after the Powerball winner swiped $12k during a home invasion.
Despite earning over $100 million in the blink of an eye, Farthing broke into a Lexington residence in March and stole thousands of dollars.
He was arrested for second-degree burglary and marijuana possession charges.
According to an arrest citation filed by the Lexington Police Department, the alleged victim told police that they heard a loud noise that sounded like the door had been busted in.
Farthing allegedly fled the scene in a black Porsche before police arrived. Police later located Farthing in the Red Mile Gaming parking lot around 9 p.m.
During his arrest, officers spotted an alleged marijuana blunt in plain view. Officers then searched the vehicle and located additional bud. The 51-year-old career criminal was taken into custody at Fayette County Detention Center without incident, according to the citation.
Farthing's four arrests this year add to what has become a lengthy rap sheet for the Kentucky native. The repeat offender has resorted to crime since he was a teenager. His arrests range from theft to reckless driving.
