Sponsored by the Americana Music Association, the 19th Americana Music Festival & Conference, or AmericanaFest, will bring American folk, roots, country and blues performers to venues scattered across Nashville from Sept. 11-16. Recently, Lori McKenna, John Paul White, Ryan Culwell and Eliza Gilkyson were added to an already lengthy and impressive lineup.
Functioning like the SXSW Music Festival, AmericanaFest 2018 includes fans, artists and industry professionals in a cluster of panels and seminars held in the convention portion of the fest in addition to a staggering amount of daytime and nighttime showcases held in numerous participating venues all over Music City.
Lee Ann Womack, American Aquarium, Drivin’ N’ Cryin’, The Black Lillies and Joe Purdy were announced as performers back in April. A month ago, Amanda Shires and Tyler Childres were added. The massive lineup of over 500 performers slowly leaks out as big names are added, giving music fans a chance to catch their breath when they see the addition of artists such as John Prine, Ashley Monroe, John Carter Cash, John Oates, The Milk Carton Kids, Mary Gauthier, Jim Lauderdale, Jackie Greene, Jerry Douglas, Alejandro Escovedo, Brandy Clark, Tommy Emmanuel, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, John Hiatt and American Aquarium.
