Amanda Shires, Tyler Childers and More Added to AmericanaFest 2018 Lineup

Brett Warren

The 19th Americana Music Festival & Conference, also known as AmericanaFest, will fill Nashville with the sounds of roots, country and blues music in its old-school SXSW-style festival atmosphere from September 11 through September 16. The recent addition of artists such as Amanda Shires and Tyler Childers will make Music City overflow with talent.

In April, AmericanaFest was already shaping up to sound like an amazing week with its first string of confirmed performers including Lee Ann Womack, American Aquarium, Drivin' N' Cryin', The Black Lillies and Joe Purdy, to name a few. A month ago, 250 artists were listed out of the now 500-name long catalog of performers. At the time, the new additions of artists like John Prine and Ashely Monroe already had fans hurridly registering to attend.

Now, the Americana Music Association has finally unveiled the full list of artists who will be captivating crowds across the city including Childers, Shires, Candi Staton, Richard Thompson and Rosanne Cash, who will receive the "Spirit of Americana" Free Speech Award.

Those who only want to check out the performances taking place across 60 venues in Nashville can purchase a $75 wristband to try their hand at getting into the shows. But if fans want the full experience of the conference (which includes access to the Honors & Awards Show, panels, seminars, parties and special daytime performances along with the regular AmericanaFest shows), they'll need to go through the registration form on the festival's website and purchase a $200+ pass.
