Kelly Clarkson will take over the daytime talk show slot currently held by Ellen Degeneres when The Ellen Degeneres Show goes off the air after its 19th and final season.
According to the The Hollywood Reporter, the singer and The Voice coach will take over the Ellen timeslot in 2022.
"These are remarkable achievements for a talk show in its second season. We look forward to Ellen DeGeneres' 19th season paired with Kelly Clarkson for what is sure to be a blockbuster year. By 2022, The Kelly Clarkson Show will be the star of our daytime entertainment schedules and an asset to our early afternoon newscasts," Valari Staab, president of NBCUniversal Local, told The Hollywood Reporter.
The Kelly Clarkson Show, now in its second season, debuted in 2019.

In May of 2021, Ellen Degeneres made the announcement that she was ending the show after its 19th season.
"When you're a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged - and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it's just not a challenge anymore," Degeneres said.
The Ellen show reportedly lost one million viewers after allegations of workplace toxicity were made public last year in a report by Buzzfeed.
Degeneres opened the first show of her 18th season with an apology.
"I learned that things happen here that never should have happened," Degeneres said. "I take that very seriously. And I want to say I am so sorry to the people who were affected."
Clarkson, who, as the first winner of American Idol, is no stranger to being on camera, recently wrapped up the 20th season of The Voice, where she serves as a coach.
