Kelly Clarkson Performs Acoustic Song From Debut Album on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show'

Kelly treated the audience to an early career throwback.

Kelly Clarkson delights fans with a performance of her own on every episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show. While she often offers a cover in the segment dubbed Kellyoke, she changed things up on a recent episode by performing her fourth radio single, "Low." The song comes from her debut album Thankful, and it was released as a radio single on August 3, 2003.

While the original version of the song features an early 2000s pop-rock sound, Clarkson sang it on the show with acoustic guitar accompaniment only. The singer/talk show host gave a pitch perfect performance of the song with ease, and she took it to the next octave during the final chorus. The cover showcases the 41-year-old's ever-expanding talent.

Twenty years after the release of her debut album, Clarkson is still making music. She released her 10th studio album, Chemistry, on June 23. She's also currently filming the fifth season of her talk show, which moved to New York City this year.

While Clarkson is busy with music and her show, she did recently bid adieu to another gig. After moving her show to the Big Apple, Clarkson says she will not be returning as a coach on any future season of The Voice.

"I've learned a lot about what I'm capable of handling, and also what you should not handle. That was me saying 'bye' to 'The Voice' and having this big move," Kelly told USA Today. "I love that family, but I was like, 'I'm struggling. I can't smile anymore. I don't feel like smiling.'"

Clarkson added that she felt a desire to move away from L.A. after her divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. She wanted to move to Montana, where she owns property, but New York was the best option for her television show. She says her children are settling in nicely.

"I genuinely love it," she says. "And I love that my kids love it."
