Jelly Roll's desire to give back to others brought him on Saturday (Aug. 12) to the Chesterfield County Jail. The country star was in town for a Backroad Baptism Tour stop in Virginia Beach, and he stopped by per request of Helping Addicts Recover Progressively (HARP), which according to the Brandeis Opioid Resource Connector is a "jail-based treatment and recovery program in Virginia for those with criminal justice involvement who struggle with addiction."
HARP has grown a TikTok audience, partly though its Tapping Tuesdays content. In one clip, multiple participants gathered to ask Jelly Roll for a visit, and they fittingly performed his song "Need a Favor."
"We need you to stop at Chesterfield County Jail. We here in the HARP program —this is the HARP community right here, these are my HARP brothers— we all support you. We love you. We're big fans," one of the participants shared. "We need you to come through and give us a hope shot. Speak life, love, strength and hope."

A fan of the group's online presence already, Jelly Roll came through while in town, and his team chronicled the visit for social media.
"I heard y'all needed a favor," Jelly told the group amid a raucous reaction to his arrival. "I just want to say I'm a fan. I was watching on TikTok before y'all started calling for me."
Jelly Roll played a mini-concert —"Need a Favor," "Son of a Sinner" and "Save Me" sparked audience singalongs— while sprinkling in wisdom from his own struggles with addiction.
"I don't think y'all even realize the impact that y'all are having," he said. "Whenever I was in here, we didn't have a program like this. We didn't have people like us come talk to us."
