Ryan Hurd debuted a new love song this morning (March 23) and it couldn't come at a better time for the singer-songwriter. "Diamonds or Twine" was written for Hurd's fiancé country star Maren Morris. Morris and Hurd got engaged last year and are set to tie the knot very soon.
"Diamonds or Twine" is an eternal promise of love—through good times and bad— that could double as Hurd's vows.
"Doesn't matter if it's diamonds or twine/ I'll be wrapped around your finger," Hurd sings. "Girl you've got me 'til we run out of time/ rich or poor, rain or shine."

Hurd and Morris met in 2013 when they were both budding songwriters. They were frequent songwriting partners, penning Tim McGraw's "Last Turn Home" together. The two started out as friends and eventually recognized they had developed a deeper connection. Hurd's first radio single "Love in a Bar" was inspired by his relationship with Morris.
In a tweet, Hurd shared that he wrote "Diamonds or Twine" for Morris on the night they got engaged.

Hurd has written songs for Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley and Jake Owen, among others. The Michigan native released his debut EP Panorama in 2015.
Morris recently tweeted that she was in the process of writing her vows and feeling emotional about her upcoming nuptials. In April, the singer will hit the road for a handful of tour dates, including two shows at Buck Owens Crystal Palace and one at Texas' legendary Gruene Hall.
