"A lifelong resident of the greater Cincinnati area, Greg built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work," his obit read. "He was a skilled plumber and pipe fitter who took pride in his craft and the work of his hands. Above all, he loved the Lord and his family with his whole heart, a love that was evident in the way he lived and cared for those around him."

Meanwhile, his children also spoke out after the Ford Motor plant accident. Corey Knopf, Gregory's son, told ABC affiliate WCPO that his father had strong faith. This is helping the family through this difficult time.

"One of my dad's favorite bible verses is from the book of Jude, and it says 'and of some have compassion, making a difference,' " Corey said. "It means caring for people makes a difference in their lives. I can't remember how many times I've heard him say that piece of scripture."
