Country music legend Garth Brooks will make a rare appearance on the Grand Ole Opry stage on August 25. The big news came via a tweet last Sunday as the Opry wraps up a star-filled summer.
Brooks has been an Opry member since 1990, holding a coveted spot alongside artists like Reba McEntire and Chris Janson. His last appearance there was to surprise Bobby Bare with an induction invitation.

The singer-songwriter just wrapped up production on a new live album from his three-year World Tour stint with wife Trisha Yearwood. His first, Double Live, was released in 1998 and garnered a diamond selling status. He also recently announced a tour during an Inside Studio G Facebook video. Brooks spared many details but hinted that it won't be as exhaustive as runs in the past, making time for the crew to relax in between individual events. His first gig will be at Notre Dame's historic football stadium sometime this fall.
As usual, Brooks has been keeping busy before kicking off his tour. Just last week the country superstar made a surprise appearance at downtown Nashville's Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, joining the band onstage for an unforgettable performance of "That Summer" and "Ain't Goin' Down 'Til the Sun Comes Up."
The Opry show will take place at 7:00 p.m. on August 25, 2018, at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. Brooks will perform alongside Mike Snider, Connie Smith, Ricky Skaggs and up-and-comer Molly Tuttle. For those who can't attend in person, it will be broadcast live on WSM.
