The family of American Idol standout turned country star Gabby Barrett and her spouse Cade Foehner will soon grow to five. Barrett and Foehner announced Wednesday (Aug. 30) through Instagram that they're expecting their third child.
The first photo of a three-part carousel shows a blurry black box near the camera and the couple embracing each other onstage in the background. The second pic puts the foreground box in focus so we can read its inscription: "Baby #3." A video follows, showing Barrett using an at-home ultrasound machine and saying "There she is" while watching the monitor.
The couple met during American Idol Season 16, during which Barrett finished in the Top 3 and Foehner lasted through the Top 5.
"I had to get to know him first," Barrett told PopCulture. "So the thing was, I saw him originally. He has a really cool look, my husband ... he has lots of hair, just super cool rocker dude, and I wanted to make a video with him of us singing together. And so I initiated it. I didn't think he liked me at first, but then he texted me and I was like, 'Oh I see what's going on here,' so it was a mutual thing, but I went after him first."
They wed on Oct. 5, 2019. They have two children already: 2-year-old Baylah May Foehner and Augustine Boone Foehner, who was born last October.
"The Lord Jesus has given me so much that I scarce can believe it," Foehner wrote on social media following Baylah May's birth. "Not only to be saved from sin because of His Gospel but to also be given a Wife who is not only my best friend in the whole wide world but who also has bore me a child. I am a blessed man beyond my understanding."
