Cole Swindell is jumping into 2017 with a brand new single, featuring fellow country star Dierks Bentley.
Swindell revealed the news through his Instagram, sharing a photo with the caption, "New single, just in time for the new year. Y'all check out #Flatliner."
The new single is the opening track to Swindell's hit 2016 record You Should Be Here, and it definitely kicks the record off with a bang. Swindell croons about how his heart nearly skips a beat after seeing the "flatliner."
In an interview with Country Countdown, Swindell says "Flatliner" was never supposed to be his song in the first place. He originally penned the tune for Dierks nearly four years ago. Swindell says he never heard whether Bentley liked it then or not back then. But when he approached Dierks about collaborating on the track last year, he was game.

It's a fun take on becoming taken aback by love (or lust) at first sight. The two trade off verses throughout, cementing the single an early 2017 country anthem.
"Flatliner" won't be the only collaboration between Cole Swindell and Dierks Bentley in 2017. The two will also hit the road together for Bentley's 2017 What the Hell World Tour later this year.
