In the buildup to his latest LP, Darius Rucker is bringing his new love song "Don't" to country radio.
Rucker's new album When Was the Last Time is almost entirely themed around relationships, and this new cut certainly follows that theme. "Don't" is a charming mid-tempo tale of romance with a soaring chorus. In an earnest plea to his sweetheart, Rucker asks that they don't feel insecure in their love for one another. It's a love song centered on resiliency and the mutual strength that a romantic partnership can bring.
There's a gentle sway to the track that's similar to Rucker's latest No. 1 hit, "If I Told You." Although, "Don't" has more of a driving sense to it than the former, riding on an optimistic guitar riff to carry its sound along. That guitar goes full-force on the song's bridge, perhaps indicating that Darius hasn't completely abandoned the rocker in him.

Single or not, "Don't" is another heartfelt song in the bag for Rucker. We'll be able to hear the entirety of his comeback when When Was the Last Time drops on Oct. 20.
