Something secret's brewing at Cash Cabin, and it involves Country Music Hall of Fame member Reba McEntire and reigning Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM Awards) co-Entertainer of the Year Carrie Underwood.
Both country singers are plotting something at Cash Cabin, a recording studio in the Nashville area founded by Johnny and June Carter Cash and ran by their son John Carter Cash and his wife Ana Cristina Cash. John Carter broke the news on Instagram.
There's no telling what's afoot here, but we'll take any evidence that two all-time great vocalists and Grand Ole Opry members have some sort of joint plan that requires a trip to one of Tennessee's most storied recording studios.
Hopefully, we'll see both stars collaborate at the Country Music Association Awards (CMA Awards) (airing live on ABC on Nov. 11). McEntire's co-host of the evening's proceedings alongside Darius Rucker, while Underwood's challenging fellow nominees Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, Luke Combs and Keith Urban for Entertainer of the Year. They're not tied together on the list of expected performances, but it's hard to imagine any kind of awards show tribute to Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, Barbara Mandrell, Loretta Lynn, Crystal Gayle and other legendary women of country music without McEntire and Underwood appearances. Heck, maybe they're practicing a medley for next Wednesday at Cash Cabin.

The list of performances that will definitely happen at the CMA Awards includes Jon Pardi's tribute to Joe Diffie and a celebration of Charlie Daniels featuring Jason Aldean, Brothers Osborne, Ashley McBryde and fiddler Jenee Fleenor.
Underwood's also competing for Female Vocalist of the Year on country music's biggest night against Lambert, McBryde, Maren Morris and Kacey Musgraves.
