'The Woman in Me': What to Know About Britney Spears' Memoir + How to Buy It

"You guys better like it," says Spears.

Britney Spears will tell "her own story, on her own terms" in her upcoming book, "The Woman in Me." Set for release on Oct. 24, the memoir finds Spears putting her story into writing for the first time since the end of her 13-year conservatorship and separation from Sam Asghari. The book is set to feature plenty of honesty and bombshells about her life, career and past relationships. Spears opened up about the book in a new interview with People prior to the release.

"Over the past 15 years or even at the start of my career, I sat back while people spoke about me and told my story for me," Spears tells the publication. "After getting out of my conservatorship, I was finally free to tell my story without consequences from the people in charge of my life. It is finally time for me to raise my voice and speak out. And my fans deserve to hear it directly from me. No more conspiracy, no more lies — just me owning my past, present and future."

An Honest Look Into Her Life

Already, Spears is proving that the book gives an intimate look into her life, as this week she shared a vulnerable story about her past relationship with Justin Timberlake. People reported that while Spears was in a realtionship with Timberlake in the early 2000s, she became pregnant and had an abortion. She said it was "one of the most agonizing things" she's ever experienced.

"It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn't a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I'd anticipated," Spears writes in an excerpt she exclusively shared with People.  "But Justin definitely wasn't happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren't ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young."

"If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn't want to be a father," she adds.

How to Buy 'The Woman in Me'

"The Woman in Me" will be out in a matter of days, and it is currently available for pre-order at Amazon, Bookshop, Target, Walmart and more. The book is also available in Kindle form and in audio version on Audible. The audio CD is also available for purchase. Actress Michelle Williams narrates the audiobook version, with an introduction from Spears.

"I worked my ass off for this book," Spears wrote in an Instagram post earlier this year. "I had a lot of therapy to get this book done, so you guys better like it. If you don't like it, that's fine too."
