For a lot of people, acting is one of those dream jobs that they've always wanted to do. It's the kind of thing you see on TV when you're young, and it really just sticks with you.
But if you're a child actor, things might not look and feel the same. At least, that's how Susan Olsen of the Brady Bunch thinks about things. Per People, she recently opened up about her feelings about acting.
Olsen played the youngest daughter of the Bradys, Cindy, from 1969 to 1974. Once the show had finished, she'd "continued to do acting, or to pursue it". But she "can't even explain" the reasons why—although she says it may have been to please her mother, "even when I was like 18."
She ended up getting accepted to the University of Southern California after graduating high school. "I do not know why I didn't go ahead and join the film school, because I must have known that I had an inkling for that. It's just weird to me that I didn't know it [then]."
But strangely enough, it took up until she was 23 years old to finally realize acting just wasn't for her.

For her, it was a good day—she'd just landed an acting gig, and was driving home in her car. "[I] was driving home with the script and went, 'Oh my gosh, I hate acting. What am I doing? This is terrible.'" To be fair to her, I think a lot of people have had those moments where they realize they've messed up like that.
She reluctantly did the role, but then cut it all off. She told her acting teacher and her agent and said four simple words: "I can't do this."
"It wasn't my medium," she explained. "And then immediately things started working out well for me as a graphic artist." Luckily for her, that's still something she does now.
In any case, Brady Bunch was one of those iconic shows that if you watched it, you wouldn't forget. So, even if she hated every second of it... Thank you, Cindy!
