'Blind Side' Star Defends Sandra Bullock Amid Michael Oher Controversy: 'Didn't Have Anything To Do With It'

Actor Quinton Aaron, who played Michael Oher in the film, defends Bullock from people calling for her 2010 Best Actress Oscar to be stripped.

As outrage ensues over Michael Oher's allegations that the Tuohy family tricked him into signing adoption papers and conned him out of millions by profiting off his likeness, some people took to X (the social media site formerly known as Twitter, never known for its coolheadedness) to call for Sandra Bullock, who played the Tuohy matriarch in 2010's The Blind Side, to be stripped of her Best Actress Oscar.

Actor Quinton Aaron, who played Oher in the film, is attempting to hold back the line of misguided, pitchfork-wielding Xers and told TMZ Sports that the actress has nothing to do with the Oher/Tuohy drama.

"To make a statement like that doesn't make any sense," Aaron said. "Sandra Bullock didn't have anything to do with the real story that we're reading.

"She gave a brilliant performance," he continued. "And that shouldn't be tarnished for something that had nothing to do with her."

Why anyone would come for Sandy is beyond us. She was handed a script and performed it admirably. How was anyone — let alone Bullock — supposed to know about the allegedly seedy truth behind the whole thing? And why should she be punished for it now? Couple this with the fact that the poor woman is mourning the death of her longtime partner, Bryan Randall, who died on August 5 after a private battle with ALS, and we're firmly in the camp of leaving her alone.

Aaron also spoke about meeting the family back in 2010 during the release of the film and said he saw no evidence of nefarious activity between the Tuohys and Oher.

"I got a good sense from all of them," he said. "They were real cool to me."

Things are only getting messier in the Tuohy versus Oher debacle. The Tuohys are now countering Oher's allegations by saying they made zero profits from the film and that the former NFL star has attempted to shake them down for $15 million.
