Why We Love Barefoot Pink Moscato Wine

Sometimes, you don't want the fanciest bottle of wine out there. Maybe you just want a sensible, sweet wine, and you're not in the mood for any old white wine, red wine, or red Moscato. That's where Barefoot Pink Moscato comes into play.

Barefoot Pink Moscato, from Barefoot Cellars, is not actually a rosé wine, as you might assume. Barefoot Cellars Pink Moscato is a fruity, Californian wine you should definitely consider adding to your wish list.

What is Barefoot Pink Moscato?

This wine is a Moscato, which is a sweet Italian wine known for its fruitiness and made from the Muscat family of grapes.

Barefoot's official website says a bottle of this wine is, "Packed with the full flavors of juicy cherries, tart raspberries, and sweet pomegranates," and "offers all the flavors and aromas of traditional Moscato with layers of vibrant red fruit." What's not to like?

This pink Moscato also has "hints of jasmine and Mandarin oranges". Or, as puts it, "aromas of Mandarin orange and sweet jasmine." It apparently goes well with spicy appetizers and fresh strawberries. Yum!

It's more of a sweet wine than a dry one and has both floral and raspberry notes in every bottle.

What is Barefoot?

Barefoot is the company that makes this pink Moscato. It was founded in 1965 by California winemaker Davis Bynum, who created Barefoot Bynum Burgundy in his garage, according to the company website.

The new name came in 1986 when Michael Houlihan and Bonnie Harvey took the reins. Barefoot wines have been awarded over 2,000 medals and gained countless fans — including us! Similar to Varietal, Yellowtail, and Firebird brands, Barefoot wine can be found just about anywhere.

Common enough that you can include a bottle in grocery store pickup, this wine's accessibility makes it a no-brainer when you're looking to pick up a bottle.

Is Barefoot Pink Moscato Wine Barefoot's Only Wine?

No! Barefoot makes other wine varieties like a White Zinfandel, several Chardonnays, a Pinot Grigio, and so much more.

And if you've already tried Barefoot Pink Moscato and want to try something similar but still new, check out their Barefoot Bubbly Pink Moscato Champagne, instead. We bet you'll like it just as much if not more than the delightfully pink bottle we can't stop praising...or drinking!
