See Alan Jackson's Moving Performance of 'Remember When' at the Opry

All was silent at the Grand Ole Opry during a moving performance by Alan Jackson of his classic country song, "Remember When." The lights glimmered off the white cowboy hat Jackson rarely ever goes without as he began to sing.

As country music continues to morph into a sound for the newer generation, performances like this remind us that the true root of country music will always hold strong.

"Remember When" is a number one song about lasting love and looking back on all of the memories it was built on. Jackson sings the song during his Opry performance with passion and each word is heartfelt. See the memorable performance below.

In the middle of the performance, he takes a moment to step away from the mic while the band continues on. He raises his hand up to his face to get a better view of the crowd and take in the moment before beginning again.

The music that accompanies him is soft throughout, bring a hard focus on the lyrics that every person in the crowd that night could surely relate to. Out of all the incredible performances at the Grand Ole Opry that night, this was one that those in attendance will remember for a very long time.

"Remember When" Lyrics:

Remember when I was young and so were you
And time stood still and love was all we knew
You were the first, so was I
We made love and then you cried

Remember when

Remember when we vowed the vows and walked the walk
Gave our hearts, made the start, it was hard
We lived and learned, life threw curves
There was joy, there was hurt

Remember when

Remember when old ones died and new were born
And life was changed, disassembled, rearranged
We came together, fell apart
And broke each other's hearts

Remember when

Remember when the sound of little feet
Was the music we danced to week to week
Brought back the love, we found trust
Vowed we'd never give it up

Remember when

Remember when thirty seemed so old
Now lookin' back, it's just a steppin' stone
To where we are, where we've been
Said we'd do it all again

Remember when

Remember when we said when we turned gray
When the children grow up and move away
We won't be sad, we'll be glad
For all the life we've had
And we'll remember when

Remember when
Remember when
