In case you missed it, Carrot Top was recently hospitalized. We reported on it when it happened - sources close to the incident alleged that he had attempted suicide.
This isn't something his representative mentioned in her initial statement about what had happened, however. Jami Schlicher wrote at the time, "Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs. His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy."
However, he is now awake, as we also reported. His representative released another statement confirming this. "Scott remains hospitalized and under close medical care," she explained. "He is now awake, breathing on his own and continuing to improve, surrounded by his family and those closest to him."
However, per Page Six, his alleged suicide attempt has now been linked to a reported overdose. The comedian allegedly took prescription medicine before being hospitalized.
The Clark County Fire Department had responded to his home at around 4:20pm. They had received a call saying a man was "not alert".

Carrot Top Was Reportedly Extorted
As we also reported on when the news broke, Carrot Top allegedly may have been a victim of extortion.
His lawyer and legal team wrote about the alleged extortion attempt, "On its face it is a malicious threat to expose Thompson to disgrace, and to expose a secret affecting him, with intent thereby to extort money under the guise of litigation conduct."
"A federal court recently declared Mr. Evans a 'vexatious litigant' and described his filings as 'serial' and 'spurious.' In dismissing one of his cases with prejudice, the court went even further, stating: 'It appears this entire case is designed to harass Defendants.' The court's findings and Mr. Evans's litigation record speak for themselves."
The person behind the alleged extortion was named as Brian Evans, per TMZ. He reportedly wrote to the lawyer of Carrot Top about a USB apparently containing a sex tape.
"Given the existing posture of the case and the coverage already in print, I expect the press will report the motion and will use its own imagination about what the USB is... That is a foreseeable fact about third-party reporting of a public docket. It is not a threat."
