Carrot Top, real name Scott Thompson, is now awake in the hospital. The famed comedian is also breathing on his own following an attempt on his life, per TMZ.

"Scott remains hospitalized and under close medical care. He is now awake, breathing on his own and continuing to improve, surrounded by his family and those closest to him," a representative for the comedian informed TMZ.
The representative also revealed that the comedian appears to be in good spirits. He's reportedly been "joking around" with the medical professionals who are taking care of him. Furthermore, he's been reading through the countless messages of support that have poured in on social media.
"Hearing those stories and feeling that support has meant a great deal to him during his recovery," the representative continued. "Scott and his family remain deeply grateful for the extraordinary kindness and continue to ask that his privacy be respected."
Thompson was admitted to the hospital on Friday, September 18. As such, his pre-booked shows at the Luxor Casino in Las Vegas have been canceled. Thankfully, it appears Thompson is going to make a strong physical recovery. However, he will undoubtedly need help with his mental health in the coming weeks and months.
A Representative for Carrot Top Issued a Statement on Friday
Following Thompson's attempt on his own life on Friday, one of his representatives issued a short statement to TMZ.
"Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs. His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy."
According to Thompson's lawyer, the comedian was dealing with an alleged attempted extortion before his attempt on his own life.
"On its face it is a malicious threat to expose Thompson to disgrace, and to expose a secret affecting him, with intent thereby to extort money under the guise of litigation conduct," Thompson's legal team wrote in a statement.
Thompson's representatives then followed up... "A federal court recently declared Mr. Evans a 'vexatious litigant' and described his filings as 'serial' and 'spurious.' In dismissing one of his cases with prejudice, the court went even further, stating: 'It appears this entire case is designed to harass Defendants.' The court's findings and Mr. Evans's litigation record speak for themselves."
The most important thing is that Thompson makes a full recovery. Hopefully, from there, he can overcome any issues he's navigating in his personal life.
