A 17-year-old high school football player in Texas has died after suffering cardiac arrest during practice.

Odin Hensley, a student at Lake Travis High School in Austin, died two days after suffering the medical emergency on Monday morning.
Emergency responders rushed to the school following initial reports of a "reported seizure," before Hensley was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Lake Travis High School confirmed Hensley's death in an email sent to the school community on Thursday.
"At Lake Travis High School, he was a dedicated two-sport athlete who excelled in wrestling and football," the statement read.
"His teachers and coaches remember Odin as a kind, determined young man who was a valued teammate, classmate, and friend. His presence touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed."
Hensley's stepmother, Angel Ruiz, also spoke about the devastating loss, saying, "It is still unbelievable."
Lake Travis football coach Hank Carter previously confirmed that a "student-athlete suffered a serious health emergency" at around 8 a.m. during Monday's practice.
Carter said emergency crews transported the teenager to the hospital by helicopter as medical teams worked to save his life.
Speaking before Hensley's death was announced, the coach described it as a "very difficult time for us."
Community Raises More Than $190,000 for Family
A GoFundMe fundraiser was launched to ease the "financial stress" facing Hensley's family following the medical emergency.
Organizers initially created the fundraiser while the high school senior remained hospitalized, with donations intended to cover "hospital bills, rehabilitation" and other expenses.
At the time, Hensley's family said he was receiving intensive care at Dell Children's and described the situation as "an incredibly scary and uncertain time".
However, organizers shared a heartbreaking update on Thursday confirming his death.
"With unimaginable heartbreak, we share that Odin Hensley has passed away," the update read.
"We are beyond grateful to everyone who has donated, shared this fundraiser, and prayed for Odin and his family. Your support has meant more than words can express."
Following Hensley's death, organizers redirected the fundraiser toward helping his family cover "medical, funeral, and other expenses".
As of Friday morning, donations had surpassed $190,000. The fundraiser moves closer to its $250,000 goal as Hensley's family and the Lake Travis community mourn his loss.
