The couple's 27-year-old son, Elijah, was arrested Monday for allegedly shooting Mia. The incident took place at their home in Loudoun County, Virginia, on Sunday, July 26.

According to Reid, Mia is "doing great." As reported by PEOPLE, the head coach shared the update with reporters at the Chiefs' training camp in St. Joseph, Missouri, today, July 29.
"She's doing better and great from where she was," he added.
He also shared that Mia is "out of the ICU unit and making progress, so we're happy about that."
Eric "is still with her" in Virginia, according to Reid. He was with the Chiefs at training camp when the incident took place.

Reports state that Mia was wounded in the arm and chest. A Loudoun County Sheriff's Office spokesperson said police went to the Bieniemy home in Ashburn, Virginia, on the early evening of July 26 to respond to a shooting.
The circumstances leading up to the alleged incident are still unclear. Elijah was arrested and then transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where he was held without bond, said police.
Elijah was charged with use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, malicious wounding, and discharging a firearm within a building. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 31.
According to Virginia law, Elijah could face up to 33 years in prison if found guilty on all three counts. The most severe charge is malicious wounding, a Class 3 felony punishable by a minimum of five years and a maximum of 20 years in prison. Each charge also carries a possible $100,000 fine.
"Our hearts go out to Eric Bieniemy and his family," Reid said on Monday, July 27. "Our thoughts and prayers are with them."
