TMZ reports that the 22nd season of the reality dating show may begin airing on ABC next month. However, nothing has been finalized.
Why Was "The Bachelorette" Pulled Off the Air?
ABC made its decision to pull Paul's season of The Bachelorette after footage of her apparently attacking her ex, Dakota Mortensen, emerged online.
In 2023, she allegedly threw a chair at him, which struck her five-year-old daughter. She was arrested on allegations of domestic violence and child abuse following the incident. The charges were later dropped.
The release of the video also led to the pause of production on Paul's other reality show, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
Said a source, "Taylor [Frankie Paul] has some pretty serious stuff happening regarding her past, and they will see what happens. Until that resolves, they are off."
Both Paul and Mortensen have restraining orders against one another. A judge has ordered them to work out their differences regarding their custody dispute over their son, Ever.
Has the Perception of Taylor Frankie Paul Changed?
TMZ reports that the chances of Paul's season of The Bachelorette airing next month are "excellent."
Sources said that, despite the show being pulled from the network's schedule, its editors never stopped working. That suggested ABC saw a chance the season could still air.
Another source says ABC has been conducting audience testing. They are curious to see how viewers still feel about Paul after the controversy surrounding her.
Also working in Paul's favor is her attempt to repair her image. Execs have noticed her social media posts about the personal growth she's made since The Bachelorette was pulled.
"Still processing two shows were put on pause," she wrote on Instagram several weeks ago. "What is life? ...Take it seriously, learn lessons but don't forget to be silly too. It's okay to smile again after making mistakes. Today is the last day of mental health awareness month and just know if you're out there struggling you're not alone."
