The pause comes as cast member Taylor Frankie Paul is under investigation for alleged domestic violence.

Reports indicate the investigation involves her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Filming Halted Amid Investigation

According to PEOPLE, filming for season five has been suspended.

The unexpected halt arrives just days after Hulu released the show's fourth season, adding further intrigue to the sudden decision.

"They are not filming," a source said, cited by PEOPLE. "Taylor [Frankie Paul] has some pretty serious stuff happening regarding her past, and they will see what happens. Until that resolves, they are off."

TMZ was first to report the pause in production, stating: "Production on "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" has hit an unexpected pause ... and it's all due to a heated blowup between two of the main cast members, TMZ has learned."

A spokesperson for the Draper City Police Department confirmed there is an open "domestic assault investigation" involving Paul and Mortensen.

Authorities also noted that "allegations have been made in both directions" and confirmed officers contacted both parties in late February.

Cast Distances Itself as Past Allegations Resurface

The series follows a group of Utah-based TikTok influencers known collectively as "MomTok," who have built a large online following through their content and personal lives.

As the situation continues to develop, PEOPLE reports that several cast members have begun distancing themselves from Paul.

"None of the women want to be associated with her," a source noted, per PEOPLE.

Paul and Mortensen share a one-year-old son, further complicating the situation as the investigation unfolds.

The current probe also brings renewed attention to Paul's previous legal troubles.

In 2023, she was arrested on allegations of domestic violence and child abuse following an incident involving Mortensen.

According to reports, she allegedly threw a chair at her then-boyfriend, which struck her five-year-old daughter.

"According to a probable cause statement, Paul and her boyfriend, identified as Dakota Mortensen, were having an argument and, when Mortensen tried to leave, she started hitting him," CBS News' Olivia Niland wrote.

"Paul is also accused of throwing several "heavy, metal chairs" at Mortensen and hitting her 5-year-old daughter in the head with one of them, the statement said."

Paul was also accused of "kicking Mortensen, putting him in a chokehold and hitting him multiple times".

Those charges were later dropped.

For now, the future of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives remains uncertain as the investigation continues and production stays on hold.
