You've surely heard that country music star Riley Green has a much-ballyhooed guest-starring role on the Yellowstone spinoff Marshals. The "Worst Way" singer plays Garrett, an ex Navy SEAL who turns up unexpectedly in Montana to visit his old chum Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes). Kayce is another former SEAL. From the get-go, it seems like Garrett is haunted by his military past. He can't quite escape it. Maybe we will see more of that in the next few episodes of the drama that feature Green. One thing we do know now, however, is that the show's producers had a definite idea of what they wanted Garrett to look like. That meant Riley Green was forbidden to shave his mustache!

Per USA Today, Green is genuinely excited about acting. And on the April 26 episode, he'll sing. Green shared with the outlet, "They threw it on me so fast I didn't have to get nervous about it. I wanted this to be a real acting gig, and I was lucky. This character has a lot of range and there's a lot of emotion. He's a really kind of damaged guy." One with a 'stache!
Green's Character's Appearance Aligns With His Own Look
The Alabama native didn't have to do much retooling to look the part of Garrett. He said, "I guess I look sort of Western with the mustache, the scruffy beard, and I cut my own hair half the time when I'm on the road. It isn't much of a stretch from me what Garrett looks and dresses like."
Furthermore, Green noted, "The tough part for me through these two months of filming was I couldn't wake up and shave in the morning if I wanted to. I'm pretty bad. If it's hot out, I just shave it off randomly."
He's on People's Radar Screen as an Actor
Riley Green told the outlet that he heard from SAG (SAG-AFTRA) one day. "Somebody called me from the SAG (Screen Actors Guild) office trying to give me a check for some show that I was on one time, and they wanted my Social Security number. I wouldn't give it to them over the phone. They said, 'We need to validate it's you.' I said, 'Hell, you called me.'"
Better get used to it, Riley Green! Something tells me that you are going to be in demand as an actor quite a bit from now on.
