Kelly Clarkson has made an announcement that her fans hoped would never come. She has let the public know that she decided to end The Kelly Clarkson Show after this season, its seventh. Clarkson, 43, wrote emotionally on Instagram about her choice to bring the curtain down for good on the lively daytime talkfest, sincerely thanking many and saying, "This isn't goodbye."

The show will continue to air through the fall of this year.
Clarkson Explained Her Choice and Priorities
The singer and first American Idol winner expressed her appreciation to those who were associated with her show in New York and Los Angeles. "I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for, all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show, and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner."
But now, Clarkson wants to put her two youngsters first. Her children, River Rose, 11, and Remington Alexander, 9, lost their dad, Clarkson's former husband, Brandon Blackstock, last year to cancer. Clarkson shared, "Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives."
After so many unforgettable shows, 24 Daytime Emmys, and countless wonderful "Kellyoke" moments, it's hard to believe that it's all coming to a close. But Kelly Clarkson is doing this for all the right reasons.
She Did Not Rule Out Future Professional Appearances
Clarkson is not closing the door on doing gigs occasionally. "I'll still be making music, playing shows here and there, and you may catch me on The Voice from time to time...you never know where I might show up next."
