Per The New York Post, authorities said that the child was found submerged and unconscious in the bathtub by authorities Friday afternoon. The harrowing case is as peculiar as it is shocking. According to neighbor testimonies gathered by the outlet, a confusing timeline of events paints a strange timeline.

The dad's coworker spoke to The Post. "He just sent me a message around like 4 o'clock telling me that someone murdered his daughter. He didn't say who," he said. Apparently, the dad was in the hospital when sending the message.

A video obtained by the outlet shows police escorting the mother from her house. Authorities questioned her, but she not charged as of Saturday afternoon.

Police haven't shared details of the case. It is still unconfirmed who killed the baby, although neighbor testimonies and the dad's conduct point the blame to the mother.

A neighbor told the outlet that she could hear someone "screaming" around 4 am, when she got up to use the bathroom. "I think it was the little girl," she clarified. Her husband added that he heard the family speaking all night. It didn't seem like they slept at all.

Neighbors And Family Shocked And Distraught Over Child's Murder

Police sources relayed more information of the daughter's death to The Post. Apparently, the culprit may have submerged the girl for 20 minutes. The blood clots in her eyes betray some sort of struggle.

"The [EMT] brought her out on a dolly. The lips were green, the eyes were closed. They covered her up to her neck with white sheet," a neighbor said.

As the investigation proceeds, the terrible tale will reveal itself.

Neighbors spoke to The Post to share their distress.

The victim's uncle said, "I don't even have the strength to talk right now. I don't know what to say."

A neighbor said, "I see that they are happy. I see the mother loved the girl...and [the dad] is a nice guy."

Another neighbor also spoke positively of the girl, "The girl looked happy, happy all the time. In the summer I see her walking to the park with the mother and the father...nothing bad."
