One of the most popular eye drop brands is being pulled from the shelves at Walmart and other major retailers.

Nearly 40,000 bottles of Clear Eyes Maximum Itchy Eye Relief have been recalled over potential contamination. The recall covers Lot 2552A and includes 15ml bottles, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
Prestige Brand Holdings, based in Tarrytown, New York, has voluntarily recalled 39,060 bottles of Clear Eyes Maximum Itchy Eye Relief eye drops because of a "lack of assurance of sterility", an FDA enforcement report states.

The recall was first announced in July. On Aug. 14, the FDA set the recall at a Class II, meaning "use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote."
The recall specifically covers 15ml bottles carrying an expiration date of Sept. 30, 2027. The eye drops were distributed by Medtech Products Inc, a Prestige Consumer Healthcare company.
On its packaging, Clear Eyes Maximum Itchy Eye Relief is described as an astringent/lubricant redness-reliever eye drop intended to provide relief from redness, itching, burning and watery eyes.
The product is sold at major retailers including Walmart, Target, Kroger, CVS and Dollar General.
Consumers are advised to stop using the product. Additionally, consumers can also return the product to the place of purchase for a refund.
Anyone concerned about possible effects from the product is encouraged to contact a pharmacist or healthcare provider.
FDA Issues Dog Food Recall
In addition to the Clear Eyes drops, a dog food recall is underway over concerns about possible metal contamination.
Fromm Family Foods is recalling more than 5,800 cases of two wet dog foods -- sold at pet stores and online across the U.S. and Canada.
The affected cans have a best-by date of March 2029.
This marks the second nationwide dog food recall this summer.
Mars Petcare US issued the voluntary recall on July 2 for 13.2-ounce cans of High Protein Chopped Chicken & Duck Flavor for dogs.
The company said that the food may contain sharp metal and plastic fragments that could cause choking or internal lacerations for dogs.
Mars advised pet owners to consult their veterinarian if their dogs were exposed to the contaminated product.
So far, no injuries have been reported in either dog food recall case.
